CRYOGENIC STORAGE TANKS
Image: 200 m3 LNG tanks
Cryogenic tanks
Storage tank for liquefied gas under pressure, at cryogenic temperatures, for products such as LNG, N2, O2, Ar..., also for CO2 tanks.
They consist of two vessels, one inside the other, with robust thermal insulation in the chamber between them.
Capacities from 5 to 320 m3.
They are built in both a vertical (with legs or skirting) and horizontal version (with support cradles and anchoring to the ground).
Design
Designed for different working pressures from 5 - 42 bar (consult us for your requirements).
Certified according to:
- European Directive 2014/68/EU on Pressurised Equipment (CE marking) and harmonized standards for the mentioned directive (for example, EN 13445).
- ASME VIII div.1 (ASME markings)
Inner tank
Inner vessel made of austenitic stainless steel.
Insulation
Heat insulation is provided by a filling in the chamber between the two vessels using insulating material and a high vacuum. It includes absorbent material for greater vacuum stability. The effective thermal insulation minimizes product losses and enables lengthy storage times of low temperature liquefied gases.
Outer finishing
The outer surface is shot blasted and protected with two layers of coating: high anti-corrosion primer followed by a reflective white polyurethane epoxy topcoat.
Fittings
- Stainless steel piping
Tanks come with all the necessary components for their installation (piping and cut-off valves) casing made of stainless steel. - Pressure control
Equipped with automatic pressure elevation system (PPR) to compensate for head loss occurring when liquid or gas is extracted.
Safety
Safety valves controlled to discharge at operating pressure, intended to relieve internal pressure.
The system is fitted with a dual safety valve set (two valves in each set), which enables one of them to be isolated while the other is maintained or under repair.
Models
Please consult specific sizes from the main menu.
Operation
Each range of tanks has its own design diagram which specifies all connections and their functions.
Handling and transport
The tank is transported horizontally.
Tanks for vertical installation have lifting lugs on the top which enable the use of a single crane to stand them vertically.
