LIQUEFIED PETROLEUM GAS STORAGE TANKS

LPG storage tanks

Manufacture of LPG storage tanks according to European Directive 2014/68/EU and with LOCAL regulatory requirements (on request). In Spain, that means fulfilment of the Gas Regulations (RD 919/2006), as well as applicable standards EN60250, EN60630 and others.
All models in the range are CE marked or labelled according to ASME VIII Div.1.
Permanent stock available of tanks in 1200, 1500 and 1750 mm diameter sizes.

Options

Models: the catalogue shows the lapesa model range from 1 to 400 m3. Please contact us for special models or variations on the catalogue range.
Vertical and horizontal static models, for installation above or under ground.
Central outputs: all models can be acquired with optional "central outputs" (which may be useful to establish the statutory safety distances in the installation).
Inertising: the tank can be supplied with the valve rack pre-fitted (and tested for tightness) and with the air inside replaced by inert gas (nitrogen).
Specific models for GASAUTO applications: self-contained, above and under ground tanks with pumping equipment and hose pump built into a single frame ...

Finishing

Standard finish: our standard finish on the outer surface is highly effective against corrosion. The entire tank is machine shot-blasted before applying shop primer followed by a black or white polyurethane topcoat, depending on whether it is to be installed above or below ground.
Standard tanks in the catalogue of a capacities in excess of 60 m3 or a diameter over 2,450 mm are normally supplied with shop primer finish in order to avoid damaging the paintwork during handling and transport (unless customer requires the complete finish to be applied at factory).
Special finishes: other types of outer surface finish are available, such as "thick coat" of polyurethane paint (up to 3 mm and more) as a specific product for underground tanks that are to undergo dielectric strength and high impact resistance tests.

Corrosion Protection

Cathodic protection equipment for underground tanks consist of sets of sacrificial anodes and connecting cables with their corresponding terminals (also available with mixed bag activator), of suitable size for each model.

Valving

Valve set: the catalogue provides detailed lists of the valves, of the most commonly-used brands, to be fitted on each tank. Supply: for tanks with capacities up to 20 m3, the valve set is included in the supply scope specified in the catalogue.

The valve equipment necessary for tanks with a capacity of more than 20 m3 is listed in the catalogue and supplied under separate order.
Fitted valves: tanks are very often supplied with valves already fitted. In this case, supply includes tightness tests and tank inertising with nitrogen.

Tank Pits

Our catalogue gives examples of typical tank pits, although current regulations allow for further options, such as half-buried and other types of tanks, which in turn depend on the conditions of the terrain and use to be given to the area.

Tables

Natural Vaporisation: tables to quickly work out a tank’s natural vaporization capacity. All models in the range up to 60 m3 in volume are covered.
Maximum filling: there is also a table with the heights of LPG at 85% of tank capacity.

Tolerances

The following over or under tolerances have been applied to tank measurements and data in the catalogue:

Overall length: 1%; distance between support axes: 10 mm; Distance between holes on the same footing: 5 mm, other measurements: as per CODAP F1.5.

Vaporisers

Custom-designed vaporization equipment for LPG.

Tanks with internal vaporiser that make installation easier and more cost effective when artificial vaporisation is required.

Applicable regulations

All equipment in this catalogue is designed in accordance with the requirements of the EU Pressurised Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU. In addition to the user and installer information included in this catalogue, please take current legislation into account, including:

  • Spanish Law 919/2006: Technical Regulation on the Distribution and Utilization of Gaseous Fuels
  • ITC-ICG 01 to 11: Complementary Technical Instructions to the above Regulations
  • REP: Pressurised Equipment Regulation (RD 2060/2008)
  • UNE 60250: Standard applicable to liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) supply installations in fixed tanks for consumption in reception facilities.
  • UNE 60630: LPG Service Stations for motor vehicles.
